  • The mission of AC is to provide a rigorous, student-centered, standards-based English-language high school program which prepares English Language Learners to enter and succeed in top-tier universities in the English-speaking world. Recognizing the academic background of its students, AC developed with the goals of managing the transitions from teacher-centered to student-centered learning, from native-language instruction to English-only instruction, and from exam-based assessment to project and demonstration-based assessment, all while providing regular and consistent instructional scaffolding toward learning outcomes. In 2017 AC passed the third-party evaluation and was endorsed by GED Testing Service and the American Council on Education (ACE).

  • Individualized cross-cultural education is the cornerstone of IC curriculum’s philosophy. This founding principle underlies all aspects of IC Curriculum’s approaches to individualized education, Chinese education, and international education. Each student's academic and extracurricular journey is uniquely tailored to her or his gifts and passions. In myriad ways, IC Curriculum supports students in self-reflection, observation, and inquiry, helping them discover and develop individual characteristics and talents within a well-rounded education.

  • IC Academy Kunming supports students with experienced teachers from home and abroad, one-to-one individualized development mentors, highly differentiated and diversified curriculum, enrichment programs, and a rich learning environment for students to expand their knowledge, to improve their skills, to achieve their goals, and to contribute to their community. The main components of the curriculum are AC Curriculum with AP courses, and IC Curriculum.
